At Knitting Dadi, we specialize in beautiful, high-quality handknitted garments and accessories for babies, toddlers, and kids up to age 12. Our collection features sweaters, hats, socks, blankets, booties, and more – all lovingly made using only the softest natural fibers like cotton, wool, and bamboo.
The History Behind Knitting Dadi
Knitting Dadi was founded by Kiran Aggarwal with a passion for knitting. After making handknitted gifts for their own children and getting rave reviews from friends and family, she realized there was a need for unique, artisanal kids knits that reflect classic Indian designs and motifs.
The name “Knitting Dadi” pays respect to all the grandmothers who have kept the ancient craft of knitting alive in India for centuries.
Our Values and Sourcing Process
Knitting Dadi has been founded on principles of ethics, transparency, and sustainability. We work exclusively with women-owned ethical manufacturing units across India that pay fair wages and ensure safe working conditions.
Most of our natural yarns and fibers are sourced from female artisans, cooperatives & collectives across rural regions. By working directly with such suppliers at the grassroot level, we are able to make a direct socio-economic impact at source.
We take great pride in representing ‘Make in India’ products of outstanding quality that support indigenous craft communities.

Our launch collection offers knitted essentials for babies and children in soft pastel hues right through to bolder pops of color. While we will keep adding new designs frequently, all our pieces demonstrate characteristics intrinsic to handmade crafts – no two pieces are identical & minor imperfections make each product absolutely unique.
These are heirloom quality knits that can be treasured and passed down for generations. The pure natural fabrics ensure our clothes keep babies warm and cozy without irritating their delicate skin. Plus, the reassuring scent and breathability make them perfect for all little ones.

Knitting Dadi has kickstarted operations in Varanasi but we have plans to work with more regional artisan clusters through sustainable partnerships. By growing our collection, we hope to sustain more livelihoods rooted in indigenous craft heritage, empower more female artisans, and give back more to local communities.
